Responsible Finance for Blue Carbon Ecosystems

Despite their importance to nature, people and climate, ocean and coastal nature-based solutions currently receive less than 1% of global climate finance. Conserving blue carbon ecosystems requires a shift to more strategic policy frameworks.

This report details the WWF's approach to designing and implementing strategic policy frameworks to advance blue carbon conservation financing opportunities - an exercise that could not only boost coastal communities' climate adaptation and mitigation, but also help deliver on global Sustainable Development Goal targets.
